  1. Hey Cathy, great blog! I just discovered it while searching for tasker tutorials on how to interact with SMSes. I'm currently looking to implement the Google Talk scripts you posted.

By the way, do you take requests or are willing to help out fellow tasker users?

    Keep up the good work.

thanks for your concern about my blog.

i have been in touch with tasker and python script not a long time, just a couple months so far.

so i was there just like you, as a beginner.

feel free to let me know if you have any questions, i will see what i can do for you.

      Cheers!

  2. Cathy,

Some good tutorials on here! I was wondering. have you tried to design an interface, using scenes, to schedule text messages? I know how to do it by creating a new profile for every message, but I think it would be cool to have an window pop-up to select a contact, message, and time, and have it schedule the message for you :) This would make it possible to avoid installing an extra app, like SMS Scheduler.

Thanks for reading and keep up the good work.

    1. Hi,

can you detail what you wish it could be?

i will see if it could come true.

    2. Well, you would push a widget on your homescreen which could start a scene window. In the scene would be 6 things. 1: Text box or button to select a contact. 2: Selection to choose Time. 3: Selection to choose Date. 4: Text box to enter the text message itself. 5: Send button. 6: Cancel button.

I guess to actually send the message, you would have to have the scene create a profile, then the profile could delete itself after it sends it? I'm not sure. hopefully you have some ideas on how to make it actually send the message :)

    3. Hi,

i get a little bit confused of your comment, what exactly functionality do you propose?

by the way, tasker does have the function to load contacts, so you are able to select the contact person in the popup list.

      let me know your thought.

  3. Hi, Cathy!

Thank you for sharing useful skills and excellent ideas!

I have read all of them. Your bog is very good except the layout of content. :)

I remember that I have read some similar articles about Tasker in some Chinese bbs, e.g, about ES ftp, smart auto airplane mode, and so on.(unfortunately, I can't find them at all.) So I think you may be the same author. Just a guess. :)

    Cheers!

P.S: Recently I have started my own blog on Blogger. I wrote some note when using Tasker. Welcome to leave a comment or give any suggestions.

    4. Yeah, mainland.

Not long ago, I had open a post about Tasker in MIUI forum(here: http://www.miui.com/forum.php?mod=viewthread&tid=856394&highlight=Tasker). It's difficult and distraught for me to maintain posts in forums. And I want to share my experience with more people in English.
